Defra has informed us that they are proceeding with the review of the Part 2A contaminated land statutory guidance. 
 
Defra has said that this decision follows a series of informal meetings with stakeholders in the Spring, which revealed widespread support within the sector for the guidance to be updated and improved. 

Defra plans to hold a 12 week public consultation on proposed changes later this year.

LG Regulation arranged a meeting between a number of councils and Defra which took place in London to discuss the review.  Another meeting is likely to be arranged for councils further north in the country.
