Energy labels (A-G Grading - sometimes A+ or A++) are now required on several different types of household equipment to tell purchasers and consumers about the energy efficiency and performance of the products. 

Trading Standards enforce these Regulations and have regularly found poor compliance when carrying out inspections at retail level.  Officers have offered advice to traders to contact their suppliers for copies of the correct labels but this has not been effective in improving the compliance rate.  Often, retailers find the black figures and data of the label but not the appropriate template in which the data should go.

In collaboration between Trading Standards, LACORS and RETRA, and in an attempt to help retailers to get their labelling right, colour templates for each category of product have now been prepared and are available for anyone to download or print off.  This should then enable retailers to fit the data sheet to the template and affix to the product.
