Colleagues may wish to be aware of and disseminate information about this initiative which has been developed by Steve Evans, a paramedic in the North West Ambulance service.

A poster, advice, and DVD campaign raises awareness and teaches youngsters about the dangers of alcohol and what they should do in an emergency situation.

Some basic first aid steps are available on the Department of Health website and councils can also add their own logos or host  “When things go wrong" on their own websites. Colleagues may also wish to download and distribute the poster, which is available in both English and Welsh.

A short DVD is also available via youtube and the campaign has received local and national publicity and support.
