A framework for a handover document to be created whenever responsibility for a work-related death investigation passes from one organisation or another has been drawn up by HSE. The framework is worded so that it can be used by LAs or HSE. A sample document is also available and it too is written for use by either HSE or LAs. 

LACORS and the National Liaison Committee which oversees the WRD Protocol recommend the use of these documents as best practice.
